Home Office Reveal

Office

Raise your hand if you live and work out of a 900 square foot apartment? I consider myself very lucky to be in this current situation, therefore creating a functional office space where I spend 40+ hours a week was at the top of my list

img_5880-1

Since I’m essentially working out of my living room, I carefully chose decor that helps my workspace become a part of the overall design. First on my list was a comfortable office chair that was both supporting and aesthetically pleasing. I also wanted the desk and printer stand to go well with our current wood furniture pieces, so I chose a dark cherry wood.

For the record, I’ve been working from home full time for 3 years now so it’s taken me this long to finally find all of these pieces that work perfectly with our little home. Eventually one day I hope to transfer to an actual room of the house, but for now my little living room nook is serving me just fine.

Fashionably Philly

Hi friends!

We just returned from visiting Philadelphia for a long weekend, where we had the best time touring the city and dancing the night away at our friends’ wedding. Packing for weddings in the colder temperatures is quite the challenge, but FashionPass made it super easy for me to stay warm while also making a fashion statement.

6. Jungle Wall

What is FashionPass? It’s an amazing unlimited clothing rental service, which in my opinion caters to a younger audience than rent the runway, since they carry brands such as For Love and Lemons and Free People. I’ve been renting clothing and accessories from FashionPass since the summer of 2018, when I was looking for a dress to wear to a wedding, and didn’t feel like spending $200 when I knew I would only wear the dress once.

WEEKEND RENTALS

Slide1

BB Dakota Leopard Coat – SO cute and comfortable and definitely something out of my comfort zone, but happy I ended up trying because it was actually quite warm for our full day of touring the city in March

Dress The Population One-Shoulder Gown – One of the most flattering and comfortable dresses I’ve ever worn – FP has this gown in both black and red (and I’ve worn both to weddings) – highly recommend

For Love & Lemons Mini Dress – Another dress that would normally be way out of my comfort zone but ended up looking amazing! I wore this out for a date night with my husband and felt amazing

If you are interested in trying FashionPass for an upcoming event, sign up to gain priority access on the waitlist and $35 off your first month with my code TRISHSPOON at https://thefashionpass.com.

FASHIONPASS INSTAGRAM TAKEOVER

5. La Colombe

Lastly, I am SO excited to have the opportunity to take over the FashionPass Instagram Stories this weekend while I’ll be on another trip to Nashville! Tune in on Saturday, March 16 to follow me around town and see which items I ended up choosing for my rentals.

Travel Beauty Favs: Hair & Skin Edition

Traveling is fun, but packing a suitcase is not. I’ve been traveling consistently all through my 20’s, typically 2-3 times a month for either work or pleasure. Since I just returned home today from 4 days of work travel, I wanted to share some of my recommendations for my favorite travel beauty products perfect for carry-on sized luggage.

Travel Bag

HAIR CARE

Air travel wrecks havoc on my hair, but these 5 products are amazing for keeping my hair fresh after a long flight.

Living Proof has some of THE best hair products out there and I cannot live without their Perfect hair Day dry shampoo and shampoo. Living Proof has completely transformed my damaged hair after I didn’t take care of it in college, and I would highly recommend to anyone. The brand has tons of travel-sized individual products and sets online, and the sizes are large enough to last me several weeks.

Briogeo also has incredible hair care products, and one of my favorites is the leave-in conditioning spray. I actually have the full size bottle at home and this travel version is easy to refill, so I can just add more product when I need it.

Last but not least, I travel with 2 drybar products, both the sea salt spray for texture and the replenishing conditioner. I would also highly recommend their ceramic round brush, paddle brush, and hair clips for styling.

SKIN CARE

It’s no secret that flying does horrid things to your skin, so I pack my suitcase with all of the essentials. Many of these products I received through purchasing a deluxe sample set from the Sephora Favorites collection, which I highly recommend if you would like to try luxury items in a mini size before taking the plunge on a full size.

My favorite skin care product for years has been the IT Cosmetics Miracle Water. This anti-aging micellar cleansing water helps get rid of every ounce of make up, and also boosts radiance and brightens skin.

Additional skin care products that I would not leave at home include an eye cream, everyday moisturizer, lip balm, face wash, charcoal mask, and facial peel. The best part about having all of these items in travel size is that I’m able to store them in my suitcase for when I need them for my next trip and it saves SO much time during packing.

TRAVEL CASES

Cuyana

If you haven’t heard of Cuyana, run don’t walk to their website for the best monogram leather travel accessories out there. I accidentally asked both my husband and mother-in-law for the same blush colored travel set for Christmas, and I ended up with 2! It actually works out perfectly because the rectangle shape makes them very easy to pack in my carry-on, as they fit right next to each other. I would also highly recommend the leather jewelry case, passport case, and classic structured tote as well.

Hope you all have a fabulous week!

Trish

Bubbles on the Beltline

Estrella 1

Happy Monday!

Over the weekend in Atlanta we ended up with two full days of rain but one absolutely beautiful day of sunshine on Saturday. Typically February in the South is one of our coldest months, but I have zero complaints when it turns out to be 60’s and sunny.

Estrella 4

I’ve been dying to visit this new rooftop restaurant and bar on the beltline for the last couple of months and oh my goodness Estrella did not disappoint. Since our recent vacation to Aruba we have been craving the tropical vibes and the second you walk inside it feels like you have been transported to Miami.

We posted up at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the upbeat music accompanied by the rare mid-February sunshine. I will definitely be back soon for more sparkling rosé, and my husband was feeling nostalgic for the islands and went with the Presidente Pilsner.

Outfit Details

  • Duster Kimono: Buddy Love | This kimono is probably one of my favorite clothing pieces that I snagged from one of cutest shops in Atlanta, Hand in Pocket Boutique. The brand also carries this style in a a few other patterns as well if snake print may be too bold for you.
  • Jewelry: Natalie B. Jewelry | I cannot say enough great things about NBJ as literally all of my favorite jewelry is from her shop. You have probably seen me wear these black tassel earrings 100 times but it’s fine because I now have 2 pairs as they are on sale for $22. Also this necklace I picked up during one of their sales in December and it is AMAZING and such a steal for $34. If you use my code NBJTRISH15 you can receive 15% off your entire order.
  • Denim Skirt: Levi’s | I just picked up this Levi’s skirt at free people this weekend and I know it’s going to be a huge staple for me all year round. Skirts are my preferred clothing piece to shorts or pants so I know I will be wearing this one a lot.
  • Black Cami: J. Crew | This tank is probably my most worn clothing piece as the adjustable straps make it perfect for any outfit. I originally bought this cami for work but I ended up wearing it so much, I went back and bought another one in gray to join the rotation. J. Crew is current having a 40% sale with the code YESPLEASE for President’s Day Weekend.
  • Sunglasses: Tom Ford | I’m a big fan of investing in sunglasses as they do carry a pretty nice resale value on Poshmark if you can take care of them. I’ve had these TF’s for almost a year and they are definitely one of my favorite pairs I’ve ever owned.

200,000 Poshmark Followers?!

Hi friends!

I am so excited to finally write this post because I have finally reached 200,000 followers on Poshmark!

What is Poshmark you ask? It’s a digital marketplace where anyone can buy and sell new or used clothing, shoes and accessories via online or on their app.

I’ve been recycling my closet on Poshmark for almost 3 years now, and it’s truly one of my favorite hobbies. Not only do I love selling on Poshmark, but some of my favorite pieces that I’ve been wearing for years I also purchased for amazing deals on the platform.

I would love to share some tips that have helped to be to become a successful seller, just in case you are interested in cleaning out your closet as well!

Appearance

Post great cover photos to catch the attention of potential buyers. My favorite apps for editing photos are Snapseed for brightness, TouchRetouch for cutting out background objects, and Adobe Lightroom for clarity.

Use white poster board for flat lay pictures, or a bare wall with a hook to hang clothing pieces up so your items will look crisp and neat.

Write your listings as clear as possible and always include the condition, size, measurements and any flaws.

Tissue paper & washi tape are an inexpensive way to dress up your items! I usually try to coordinate with the holidays or seasons for my buyers, and February is for Valentines!

Write thank you notes – a personal touch can go a long way, especially for repeat customers.

Organization/Shipping

You can order free USPS supplies online store them at home for easy and quick packaging. These boxes are my favorite because they already come equipped with self-sealing tape on each end, so you are saving packing tape in the long run.

Buy large clear bins to store your packing and shipping supplies, along with any items that have already been posted to your closet. I have 8 of these hidden under our bed and I organize my items by tops, bottoms, shoes, bags, accessories, etc.

Save bubble wrap from online shopping orders to reuse to wrap delicate items, and also recycle any small boxes for jewelry to reuse later.

Exposure

Share your items daily! I aim to share my closet at least 3 times a day: once in the morning, once after work and once before bed.

Follow people, and they will follow you back! Follow games are also a great way to gain followers, so I try to “play” as many as possible!

Share other people’s items that are similar to your style, and they will share back and in turn expose your items to more buyers.

Add new items to your closet frequently – this helps your items show up under the Just In clothing section.

I hope you enjoyed these tips and please feel free to reach out with any questions in the comments. Sign up with code PATRICIAA to get $5 off your first order! Happy Poshing!

Anniversary Trip to Aruba

Happy Sunday! Thanks for stopping by to read my first official blog post about a trip that I have been asked about quite frequently, so keep scrolling for details about our first trip to Aruba!

Aruba Cabana

(Kimono: Show Me Your Mumu, similar here; Hat: SheIn, similar here)

It all started while I was scrolling through instagram and stumbled across pictures of beautiful beaches with a pop of neon pink when it was decided we were going to Aruba…to see the Flamingos! We started browsing flights for a couple of days and we were lucky enough to find a steal on Delta direct flights from Atlanta, so we jumped on buying the tickets immediately.

Flamingos

Since the flamingos are only located on Renaissance Private Island it only made sense that we needed to stay at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. The hotel is a Marriott property located in the town of Oranjestad. We flew down on a Saturday morning and arrived at our hotel around lunch time. We immediately changed into our swimsuits and hopped on boat over to the private island to have lunch by the water at Papagayo Bar & Grill.

IguanaThe private island is divided up into two sides: Iguana Beach (family friendly) and Flamingo Beach (adults only). At the time of our trip there actually were not many kids visiting, so we ended up thoroughly enjoying both sides of the island. Iguana Beach was lively with tropical music and Flamingo Beach had a nice relaxing and romantic vibe.

Flamingo Champagne

The first full day of our trip was on a Sunday, and we thought what better way to celebrate Sunday Funday than a champagne brunch cruise! We booked the Pelican Adventures’ Catamaran Ride through Trip Advisor. The boat departed from the popular town of Noord in the morning and we were served both breakfast and lunch on the boat, with unlimited drinks of course. We returned to Noord later that evening to dance the night away at the Moomba Beach party – highly recommend for fun night out!

The following day we rode ATVs through the breathtaking Arikok National Park. We also booked this tour via Trip Advisor through Action Tours Aruba. A driver actually picked us up at our hotel in the morning and drove us to the ATV pick up location again in the city of Noord. The tour took us all over the National Park and around the island to the Natural Pool, Gold Ruins and the Natural Bridge.

Natural Pool

The final full day of our trip was extra special, because I was able to surprise my husband by renting a cabana on Renaissance Private Island. This experience truly set the bar as as far as relaxation goes, and I would highly recommend booking a private cabana on Renaissance Island.

Spoon Cabana(Swim Trunks: Mavrans)

We arrived at our cabana in the morning pleased to find our last name printed in the sand, with a cooler full of champagne, water and fruit. We spent the day laying out in the sun on our over-the-water hammock, snorkeling and flocking with the flamingos. Each private cabana also has a butler that comes with it, so we ordered pizza and more champagne to enjoy our last afternoon in paradise.

I’ll always look back on our first anniversary with the memories of this incredible trip, and I can’t wait for our next island adventure!
